Job Description
Purpose
Under the direction and guidance of the Housekeeping Supervisor, Housekeeping Manager, Accommodation and General Manager, you will clean guest rooms ready for arrivals and common areas of the hostel. You will be part of the welcome experience for guests and you will ensure guests receive friendly, prompt service and a seamless experience throughout their stay.
We work closely within the Housekeeping team and you will work with other operational teams such as Front Office, Food and Beverage operations to provide great service for guests
Hospitality
• Support and ensure guests receive friendly, prompt service and personal recognition.
• Clean rooms to the expected standard for checkout and stayover guest
• Clean common areas such as hallways, foyers, toilets, gyms etc as directed by the supervisor/ manager
• Use cleaning chemicals as directed following the related training on safe use of the chemical at all times
• Follow lost property procedure for any guest belongings on departure or common areas of the hostel
• Follow process/ procedure related to damaged linen
. Report any damage to property including beds, walls, floor coverings, curtains or similar to the supervisor/ manager and or maintenance for repair
• Have knowledge of the broader hotel offerings and activity in the local area.
• Help your team mates and share the workload with other duties as required
• Maintain cleanliness standard of the service areas.
• Report any suspicious activity within and that may affect the hostel to your manager
• Provide a professional, friendly and consistent approach to all our guests.
• Complete any assigned training related to your role or employment conditions
• Abide by the company policies and seek clarity where need be on the company policies
• Ad-hoc duties and follow reasonable instruction as directed by your manager.
Work Health and Safety
• Adhere to the relevant legislative requirements including EEO, Safety, the Code of Conduct and policies.
• Take reasonable care for your own health and safety.
• Ensure your acts do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons.
• Comply with reasonable instructions given by the employer.
• Ensure that first aid requirements and ensure all usage is recorded on the First Aid Treatment Register
• Ensure that all incidents/hazards are reported
Special Conditions
• Ability and willingness to work to the demands of the business as required. Must be available to work mornings, nights and particularly weekends. Along with all calendar events including but not limited to Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and Easter.
• Ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done
• A current police clearance or the willingness to apply for one.
