About this role
As Grounds & Maintenance Professional, you will ensure the lodge’s buildings, grounds, and facilities are kept in excellent condition. From general repairs to daily upkeep, your work helps deliver the premium experience Flockhill is known for.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the appearance and safety of all lodge buildings, walkways, gardens, and outdoor areas.
Carry out general repairs including basic plumbing, painting, and carpentry.
Conduct daily inspections and respond to maintenance issues in a timely manner.
Keep all areas hazard-free and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Support the team with seasonal groundskeeping duties such as mowing and clearing.
Be available for weekend shifts and after-hours emergencies as needed.
Work independently and communicate clearly with the Lodge Manager regarding ongoing tasks
Additional Responsibilities
Monitor tools and supplies, and coordinate with contractors when required.
Help implement improvements for guest and staff comfort across the property.
Support the wider Flockhill team as needed to deliver smooth operations and outstanding service.
What you will bring | Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu
Previous experience in groundskeeping or property maintenance (hospitality experience preferred).
Some form of trade qualification (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or general maintenance).
Good understanding of English and fluent spoken communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.
Reliable, motivated, and committed to high standards.
Ability to work weekends and flexible hours.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
A team player with a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.
