Forklift Operator
Job Description
Join an award-winning Canterbury cropping business recognised for excellence in seed and potato production. Based just outside Ashburton, you’ll become part of a close-knit, down-to-earth team working in a modern, efficient grading and storage facility.
You’ll be responsible for the smooth flow of product through the grading shed, safely operating forklifts to move, stack, and tip bins of potatoes into grading machinery, maintaining organised inventory, and ensuring product traceability across cool stores and storage areas.
This role is mainly Monday – Friday 8am -5pm. Some weekend overtime and later finishes may be required during peak season.
– Operating forklifts to move and stack bins in grading and cool store areas
– Tipping and loading potatoes into grading equipment
– Loading and unloading bins onto truck and trailers
– Managing bin inventory and maintaining accurate records
– Supporting shed operations with a strong focus on safety and efficiency
– Box repairs
What You’ll Bring
– Proven forklift experience (F endorsement preferred)
– Prior experience in a packhouse environment a bonus!
– Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
– Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-focused environment

– A positive attitude that works well in a team who enjoys some banter through the day
