Are you a travelling teacher?

Do you have an interested in agri- tourism and would love living on a high country station in a supportive and fun environment.

We have a role available at Simons Hill Station from mid January 2026 for a 6 month period.

This role will be split between home schooling/ transporting my daughter to her extracurricular activities. Plus, supporting myself in running and cleaning my two boutique accommodations.

The Role

The home schooling role will include teaching mainly English and Maths plus core subjects to the NZ Year 5 curriculum, which is all provided in the Te Kura website. She has a literacy online class daily and a maths class a couple times a week, we would ask you work upon these to provide additional teaching.

We encourage advancing my daughter’s art skills through painting and keeping her active with outdoor sports. So this is important to add into your teaching schedule. Which you can create with her when you start.

As she completes school work, this needs to be logged on the Te Kura website, which would be your responsibility in the role.

You would also need to take her into town for her gymnastics, ice hockey or horse riding lessons (depending on the time of the year)

Plus, sometimes supporting with preparing my daughters lunch

The accommodation role will aid in providing you with 40 hours a week work and this involves supporting with the housekeeping of the two huts we have. We are operating currently using booking com and Airbnb but are currently in the process of creating and launching a website for direct bookings. I would need your support with operating these also.

It would also be great if you have some extra time, if you can just help me with ensuring the house is tidy – as we can get very busy here!

Requirements

-You will need a full driving licence and be confident driving on the left hand side of the road

-Have been a teacher or have two years minimum experience as a teaching assistant

-English being your first language

-Requires someone will a lot of drive

-Have the ability to be self directed

-Organised

-Capable of managing different tasks

-Have good time management

-Have the ability to motivate my daughter to learn

-Working Holiday Visa

-New Zealand bank account

-IRD number

Extra Details

-This role will be paid at the NZ minimum wage

-30-40 hours a week (depending on how busy we are)

-Accomodation included in exchange for small rent payment

-Accomodation is in our staff quarters, living with our shepherdess. Shared kitchen and living space. Your room will be private and includes a ensuite bathroom. There is also a kitchenette if you wish to cook in your room

The lady currently in this role will be leaving from mid jan, if we can arrange you to be here before they leave this would allow them to show you the ropes and teach you booking.com/airbnb
