Whangamomona Hotel is a traditional country restaurant and hotel located in the Taranaki region. With the growth of our business, we are seeking a full-time Cook to join our team.

We offer a permanent position with a pay rate of $24–$30 per hour, depending on experience and skills. This role guarantees 40 hours of work per week.

Key responsibilities of the Cook include:

Assessing the quality of food before cooking and ensuring all ingredients are fresh and not expired or spoiled;
Managing food storage by placing ingredients in appropriate temperature-controlled environments according to storage requirements;
Consulting with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff when planning menus;
Adjusting the temperature of kitchen equipment such as stoves, grills, and ovens as required;
Portioning cooked food, plating, and serving meals with appropriate sauces and garnishes;
Supervising and training kitchen staff;
Maintaining the highest standards of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness;
Monitoring stock levels and ordering food supplies;
Performing other related duties as required.
