CHRISTCHURCH: Joiner / Factory Joiner / Assembler

Job Description

We are looking for a Joiner / Factory Joiner / Assembler to join a busy manufacturing team in Christchurch.

Candidates with strong transferable background considered. For example: aluminium joiner, aluminium fabricator, cabinet maker, cabinet assembler, shopfitter, kitchen installer, cabinet installer, hammerhand, furniture manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
– Assemble cabinetry, joinery and other manufactured components
– Read and follow drawings, plans and measurements
– Use hand and power tools safely and accurately
– Cut, fit and assemble components to specification
– Install hardware, hinges, handles and other fittings
– Check finished products for quality and accuracy
– Carry out finishing and adjustments where required
– Assist with on-site installation of joinery and cabinetry where required

About You
– Previous joinery, cabinetry, furniture, shopfitting or other transferable experience
– Good understanding of measurements and basic plans/drawings
– Confident using hand and power tools
– Good attention to detail and mechanically minded
– Good communication skills
– Own reliable transportation
– Pass drug test and criminal record check
– Right to work in New Zealand (work visa holders considered)
Joinery experience is preferred, but we are happy to consider candidates from related trades or manufacturing backgrounds who have the right practical skills and attitude.

– Pay: $26 – $40 (Depending on skills / experience)
