Job Description
Bud thinning in Kiwifruit :
Dates : 29 Sep 2025 to 22 October 2025
Further Employment: more work available for right staff.
Kiwifruit bud thinning is the practice of removing excess flower buds from the vine in the spring to promote larger, higher-quality fruit by directing the plant’s energy to the remaining buds. The process involves hand-thinning buds on the canes, identifying and removing the weaker lateral buds, and often leaving the strongest central “king” bud to develop.
This selective removal prevents overcrowding, balances the fruit load, improves fruit size and flavour, and contributes to overall vine health.
