Packhouse Team Member + Discounted Accommodation
Job Description
We’re recruiting energetic and reliable Packhouse Team Members for the 2025/26 post-harvest season across day and night shifts. Successful applicants will work in a fast-paced environment, turning, grading, packing, and bagging apples for local and export markets while maintaining high-quality standards.
Job Requirements
Minimum 6-month commitment
Face-to-face interview required
Must stay at Archie’s Bunker, a friendly, social, and affordable working-hostel right in central Napier. It’s clean, well-run, and known for its welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal base for seasonal staff.
Own transport ideal (cars preferred)
Forklift experience welcome (testing onsite)
Key Duties
Turn, grade, and place fruit on trays
Pack cartons and crates using correct liners, labels, and orientation
Bag, weigh, label, and seal product correctly
Maintain clean work areas and follow SOPs
Handle fruit carefully and remove defects
Support your lane and move between stations as required
Follow all Health & Safety rules and wear PPE

Good attention to detail & ability to follow instructions
Fit for repetitive movement (bending, lifting, twisting)
Good eyesight (eye test required)
Reliable, positive, and team-focused
Strong communication and time-management skills
